American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Bariatric Surgery Centers of Excellence Program® (BSCOE):The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Bariatric Surgery Centers of Excellence® (BSCOE®) program, endorsed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and numerous other health insurers around the country, is a rigorous evaluation process designed to determine those facilities and surgeons that have a comprehensive program and meet established program requirements for providing safe bariatric surgical care. The hospital, surgeon and surgical practice each must submit an application and are reviewed together as a group. A hospital cannot obtain an ASMBS BSCOE designation without having at least one surgeon (and one accepted back-up surgeon) who meets the criteria and is also recognized as an ASMBS BSCOE. The applicants undergo a site inspection, which not only documents process, i.e., equipment, supplies, training of surgeons and staff and the availability of consultant services - but emphasizes results. Every ASMBS BSCOE participant must report all surgical patient data into Surgical Review Corporation

I Began My Trip From Hell With This Provider In 2004. He Failed Beyond All Comprehension To Diagnose,treat And Intervene Surgically In An Area Of Medicine That He Alleges He Is A Specialist In.he Is Rude.he Lacks Any Bedside Manner.it Is Now 6 Yrs Later.i Am Still Suffering The Effects Of His Negligence And Lack Of Any Surgical Skill.i Have Undergone 8 Surgeries Since Leaving His Care With Another Major One Coming Up Related To His Misplacement Of A Lapband. Unfortunate,yes.shameful,absolutely
